I have a Sony Vaio with firewire i/o. It is a P4, 2.5 gig machine with 512 ram and I was wondering would that be a powerfull enough computer to record HD streams to D-Vhs tape? Also, what type of addtional hardware (if any) would I need to do this?

Thanks,

D

You need to go to the HDTV Recorders forum and look at the massive thread there on how to do this.

You will need a HD Tuner to get .ts files into your PC. Then you can transfer/record to your DVHS via firewire. My Fusion2 can record to HDD and DVHS at the same time. Your PC should be ok for this...mike...

mike, an HD tuner is not required if he already has the streams :)
