I have a pair of Usher Be-718s as fronts and I'm looking for a good matching center. Usher's centers are too tall to fit in the BDI cabinet holding my HT equipment.

Maximum height is about 8", which would completely fill the available vertical space. Right now, I have about a foot free for width, but I can shuffle around components to accommodate a wider speaker. Budget is pretty flexible, let's say $1K max.

What centers do you recommend?

I looked at a ton of different speakers, including those Ushers and passed on them due to the too tall center channel. Of all the things I listened to only Paradigm comes to mind as being a possible close match but I did not listen to the Paradigms and Ushers on the same day nor even at the same store. I did not feel that the Ushers sounded at all like the Monitor Audio or Revel speakers I listened to at the same shop.
