Get those pre-orders in. Take a look at those ultra detailed textures, as well as amazing LOD and draw distance.

It's listed in the official minimum specs.
Got 'er preloaded. 109 GB of delicious data.
Waiting on steam.
Only had a little time to play this. The best part about the visuals is it shows that next generation effects can be utilized without sacrificing overall visual clarity. This is how it ought to be done. Weather effects are by far the best I've ever seen. Some great resolution scaling options: 80% scaling of 4K looks and plays great with an RTX 2070 at mostly high and some ultra settings.

Not all is great, however, as HDR looks quite unimpressive. I will definitely be playing this with HDR turned off.
A game like this absolutely needs Sli, but unfortunately both NVIDIA and the studios don't care anymore.
So I am guessing the PC version didn't get a proper HDR remaster?

I never played the console version, but HDR mode looks really flat here. I've tried a multitude of calibration options in the game's settings, but none seem to look nearly as good as with HDR disabled.

If this is what's offered and not an issue on my end, then I question why Rockstar even bothered with adding HDR when the assets don't allow it to look right.

Yeah, the HDR implementation was garbage on the PS4 Pro. They patched it but still never looked right. The game does look way better with HDR off on the PS4. Oh well, hopefully they don't screw up GTA 6.

The PC port didn't get a proper anything.

This seems very much like a case of Arkham Knight. Maybe in 2yrs I'll be able to play it properly- and I have a 2080Ti.

You can have an excellent experience with a 2080Ti if you just tone down some settings that don't have too significant of a visual impact. Same rules as with GTA V, in that stuff like grass shadows and mirror quality have high impact under certain scenarios. It seems to mostly be an engine issue in how specific features are handled.
so excited to play this :) shame about the HDR and I doubt they will do many more HDR updates as I feel it was too late in the game creation for this one, the teams are probably onto the next game. As drewTT said, here's hoping GTA 6 will have better HDR implementations.
It turns out, you still need the social club launcher to play this on steam. There was no point in waiting for the damn steam version... I could have had the game for $45 or so much earlier. Now to wait on another sale.
