I have a set of Infinity Primus Speakers that sound great but are finished with a fake woodgrain vinyl that looks, well, not so great. Is it possible to carefully sand down the raised edges of the fake woodgrain so that everything is smooth and then paint the flat surface?

Can you heat it and strip it with a stripping tool?

I'm not sure if that's possible or if I want to deal with the mess. It's mostly just the backs of the speakers that bother me because they have this big knot looking thing in the fake woodgrain (I know, but I still know that they're there). . .

With care you could avoid all of the un pleasantry and simply take them too

a cabinet shop or counter top shop and have them re faced .

If you're handy you could chemically wipe and re veneer them your self .

some shops who are set up with vacuum presses and post formers can do the

job nearly invisibly as far as seams are concerned .
