I am thinking of purchasing a NEC 42MP4 plasma with a native resolution of 1024x768 and at this resolution has the following refresh rates: 60, 70.1, 75, 85 and 100.4. Well it can accept these signals anyway, does that mean that it would be able to display at those refresh rates? Is there a native refresh rate?

I don't believe that there is any such thing as a native refresh rate.

The higher/faster the refresh rate, the faster you can deliver data

to the display. Ideally, you want to use the highest refresh rate

you can. However, given the electronics on either end, the highest

refresh rate may not look the best.

I thought all digital displays had native (fixed) refresh rates. I know that LCD, LCOS (DILA), and DLP do (usually 60 Hz) and convert other rates to native. Is plasma deferent in this regard?
