So now that I'm seeing mini-fridges running for $69, I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried to take the door off of one, replace it with a plate of glass held on by clips, and put a projector inside. It seems it should eliminate the projector's sound easily enough, but I guess there's no way to find out which mini-fridges have the lowest sound levels.

Great Idea, however the fridge in my wet bar makes more noise that my JVC G-11 when the thermostat cycles the compressor on.

Aren't we assuming he won't be plugging it in?

i doubt the btu rating of the fridge can keep up with the bulb heat output; but turning on the refrigeration was the idea

wether or not the light in the fridge does indeed truly shut off when the door is closed!

Rolan,

The light in the fridge DOES go off when the door is shut. I verified this when I was 10 by locking my younger sibling in the fridge. He reported, that it did go off and it was scarey!

PS: Please don't try this at home. I used a stunt sibling...
