I'm a newbie to high-end stereo equipment. I inherited some ROR (Audio Research inc.) model D speakers. Don't know anything about them. But they sound fantastic with the Mcintosh MA5200 integrated amplifier I just bought.

Somebody offered to refoam the woofers for $80 for the pair. If I also have him "completely go over the speakers and cabinets & crossovers with a test pattern," it will cost about $150. I have no idea what this means.
Is it worth spending to restore speakers that were made in the late 70s/early 80s? Or would I be better off buying new Elac Debut B6 speakers for $200 (I kinda maxed out my budget with the Mcintosh)?

You'll see from the attached photos that one of the speakers needs some work even though distortion is minimal. They really sound terrific.
