As the subject says. I can pick up either for about $250-275 Cnd. It will be used for 75% TV/DVD use and the rest music. Speakers will be Athena C1 center, Athena B1 rear surround and Infinity SM112 mains. If the Infinitys won't match with the Athenas then I will get a pair of B2's for the front and the P300 sub since I can get a deal on them. Listening area is not large.

I don't really care very much for a lot of DSP modes/fields, each receiver has enough for me with the Denon having more inputs/outputs I think. I'm mostly concerned with the quality of sound with deapth and headroom. From my research here I'm leaning towards the Denon since the Yammy is supposedly "bright" in sound and the Athena speakers will only accentuate that. But the Yammy is locally in town so I could see it/test it and is only 8months old so there is some warranty left.

The Denon is refurbed from Ecost with only a 30 day warranty and I'm assuming Denon Canada wouldn't honour anything after that.

What would you guys suggest given the above scenario? Any advice/discussion will be appreciated. :)
