Rel t-9 vs rel r505

hello all

been shopping for a music only sub for my 2.0 system and i had pretty much settled on the rel t-9. very musical, well outside my budget of 750, but ive seen it as cheap as a grand. all there was to do was pinch pennies.

i now however have the opportunity to buy a new in box r505. from what i can gather, the sub came out in '06 and was around until 08-09. the few reviews ive found it seems people LOVE it.

msrp was 2k, but this is being sold at 1300.

im VERY tempted to put up the additional scratch to make this happen.

sub will be matched to my marantz pm8004 driving paradigm studio 100s

thoughts anyone?

REL are very good, I compared my 12 inch M&K V75 II to their smaller 10 inch subs and the REL digs deeper...
yes but which rel to choose....!
Based on specs r505 looks good

R505 12 inch woofer, sealed 500 watts

T-9 10 inch woofer + passive, 300 watts

plus I think the R505 was designed when REL was still "REL" , the newer T-9 could have been designed by the new owners ....
yeah on paper its a no brainer.

i think this was the first sub after the takeover actually.

from what im seeing, people love the **** out of this sub. at this price, and the fact that it would almost perfectly match my speakers in color, i think i have to pull the trigger.
