My XM Roady is very much a part of my home theater. The big problem now is that the dinky little remote control only has a distance of 5 feet. I'll pass on the IR booster/repeater because, well, we're all smarter than that. (That and I hate having 4+ remotes on hand!).

So my TV (Mits' DLP) has a "learn" function. While I am able to do some things with this, it still has its limitation.

The newer all-in-one remotes, that are computer programable, allow the user to customize everything you can imagine. I'd assume you can "learn" every single button from any remote control.

My question is: Has anyone used a remote control, other than the one provided, to control your satelite radio?

Must be nice.

While I"m still a batchelor, I'd suffer through using multiple remotes.

My only qualm with the XM remote is the distance.

that, and my SA-8000HD set top box has the most narrow IR reception field I've ever seen in my life.

You can get the Harmony Remote for 159 bucks from Surf Remote or get the 659 model if you don't use Tivo for even cheaper.

Its soooooooo worth it.

I'm a bachlor too and I couldn't deal with 7 remote controls on the couch and trying to remember what input is for what.
