I'm not sure, but systems that have a RF reciever/IR blaster with individual wired IR emitters might work. Cut the emitter cable and use the CAT5 run to splice/ extend it from the base to the LCD.

Remote Control Extender (Wired) Recommendation?

I have had the opportunity to run component cable into the bathroom to power a LCD on the wall. At that time, I ran a piece of Cat-5 through the conduit as well.
Can someone please recommend a system, with as little footprint as possible on the control side (since there's no room for a box on a wall mounted flat screen over a tub), which I can use to change channels on the cable box in the other room? Its ok if there is a receiver or a box in that other room.
