Remote IN jack for a Denon AVR-2805 specifications

I have searched the forum and maybe I can not put the right key words in.

I would like to remote control in a multi-amp HT my old Denon. I can't tell from the documentation if I can just feed a 12v trigger into the remote In jack on the back to turn on the AVR.

Before doing something not smart does anyone have the specification on this connector?

That input is designed to have an IR repeater connected while there are separate 12v trigger inputs just below the IR inputs.

The jacks below are output only.....The remote in doesn't say IR and in the picture it comes from an IR receiver I believe (RC-616) however difficult to tell.
