i believe my hard disk stopped working as i am unable to record or play back. does anybody know where i can send the unit and have the hard disk replaced. i ufurther understand that a seagate 80 gb with boot up software can be installed. would this be better than sending the unit to replay for a replacement unit for $199 up front.

Sounds like you may need a new hd with a new OS image for your unit. Do a search for image and Mikeyboy and you'll find the information you need to fix your unit. Don't spend the cash to send the unit in. You can spend the same amount of money to get a far bigger hd and have the same net result.

Or you can just buy an already upgraded drive and swap it yourself in about 10 minutes. Search Ebay or elsewhere around the net. You should be able to buy one for about $20-40 more than a standard drive.
