Hi All

I own a set of Kenwood S-5M 3-way stereo speakers connected to a Marantz 2252B. They sound surprisingly good however I noticed that the tweeter on one of them is making a rattling noise when being played. On closer inspection I found that the dust cap in the center of the cone has detached yet still held close to the center of the cone. When the speakers play it causes a vibration hence the rattling or buzzing sound. A bit of flexible glue should fix it but I'm struggling to find a way to get into the tweeter. The enclosure looks sealed and I'm not sure if the protective mesh and plastic surrounding the tweeter is removable. I already tried removing the little rubber things on each front corner hoping there were some screws underneath but unfortunately nothing there but glue.

Does anyone have experience with these? Is there a way to get to the tweeter so that it can be repaired?

Thanks

Paul
