Hi,

Technically-challenged newbie here. I need to replace the drivers from my 3-way Celestion F30 floorstanders. The tweeters are still intact so all I need are 4 identical bass/mid range drivers.

The original frequency response was 55Hz - 20kHz and the crossover frequency is 3.5kHz.

I have found some reasonably priced drivers that fit the enclosure nicely which have a frequency response of 70Hz - 7kHz.

I have no specific specs for the tweeter itself.

Would these drivers be a good/adequate match with the existing tweeters and crossover to give me some half decent results?

Thanks,

Col

If you want good results, you need original drivers, not something else.  I recommend you contact Celestion for the correct drivers.

I was hoping to revive them on a budget seeing as the enclosures are intact. The research I've done so far in getting hold of original Celestion drivers is not economically viable (I'm in Australia), besides, I'm just looking for a fairly decent sound until I upgrade to some better speakers.

I suppose what I was hoping to get advice on, based on my limited technical knowledge when it comes to speakers, was whether those new drivers would match the original tweeters and crossover.

Cheers
