I have a friend that has a bose wave AWR1G1 that has a blown speaker. Of course he wants to find replace speaker for it which is going to be hard to do without sending it in for repair. He is very old school and not into any of the digital stuff. I would like to see him buy a small home system but he just wants a desktop. I really dont have any experience with these. What would be a good replacement brand he might be happy with?

Why not have your friend contact Bose to find out about repair?

If your friend's happy with Bose, he should probably stick with Bose. Repair or replace, depending on costs.


If he wants to comparison shop a bit, makers of comparable table radios include Cambridge Soundworks and, if he doesn't mind manual tuning, Tivoli.
