Plenty of people here have been happy with the LG 3410A. I believe it's the only device out there that will meet both your needs and since I believe they are discontinued, you can usually pick up a clearance model fairly cheap.

replacement for HTPC HDTV tuner & DVD-player
I am looking to replace my HTPC system with an "appliance".
The HTPC system provides DVD source-playback as well as HDTV source to my D-ILA projector that has both VGA and DVI connections.
I was contemplating a LG HDTV tunder w/built-in DVD-player, but have read they aren't very good.
I would prefer one appliance, but two may be necessary.
Any recommendations ?
