I'm in process of upgrading my HT system. I'll have a 56" Samsung HD RPTV. I have a wonderful Kenwood VR-4700 that seems to be reaching the edge of "old" technology. Looking for suggestions for a replacement ... or do you feel that this Kenwood still has some useful life left in it. The sticky issue with me is the lack of up-to-date inputs / outputs ... i.e. no HDMI switching ... limited optical digital inputs ... etc. The RF remote is really "cool"

... but something I can live without.

My suggestion would be to just get an oppo like hdmi switcher...

kenwoods are great amps...and i have four in the theater right now...

the remote you mentioned is awesome also


i would not stress the switching capabilities on any receiver...just get a decent board switcher and you are in business once again
