Hey guys,

I should be receiving my 5803 in a few days and I've heard that the Atkis RC-8000 remote that comes in the package leaves a lot to be desired so I'm looking into a replacement. How about the RTI TheaterTouch T2? Remote Central gave it a very good review. Any other opinions on what would work well with the 5803 would be great. It should also be able to control most of the functions of the Kenwood DV-5900M DVD changer.

Thanks,

Ken

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm considering the Pronto, but I like remotes with more hard buttons. I'd like to be able to use the remote without having to look away from the screen. It's almost impossible to do this with Pronto type remotes.

Ken: Home Theater Master will be releasing the MX-700 soon. (HTM has not given an exact date but beta testers are using the remote now.)

The MX-700 is an all button based unit, but it is computer programable and is supposed to come with a huge code database. The MX-700 package will also come with a small "simple" remote for users who want things a bit easier to handle.

The list is $500 for everything but I'm certain that you will be able to buy for less. Check it out... http://www.hometheatermaster.com/htm...dualremote.pdf

(BTW, the 700 will be available to ALL buyers, not just custom installers. HTM also makes a less sophisticated version of the 700 called the MX-500. It doesn't have the computer interface (or the 2nd remote) but it is pretty cool. Best of all, it can be bought for $130 or so...)
