Replay 2000 Initial Setup

250 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Mikeyboy
Hey,

I am trying to setup my Replay 2030 after I did a 777-Zones on it and I can not connect to the Replay Network and get my local numbers, keep getting a network error after it stalls on Setting Clock, Setting TimeZone and then finally disconnects.

HELP! :) It's a paperweight right now, anyone know an easy solution to this?

Keep trying.... I did this after an upgrade the other day and took like 20 retrys to get the guide info. Try pulling the plug for a few minutes.
Something you might want to try is to reduce your modem speed. Go the dial prefix setup page and hit Zones, then you should be able to change the modem settings. Change the baud rate to 26.4 (or slower) and try again.

By coincidence, I have seen this both times I upgraded one of my ReplayTVs. The ReplayTV dial up setup server is down or unreachable for some reason. This usually clears up the next day so a little patience is necessary. The first time it happened to me I patched another new drive for my other ReplayTV and got the same network error so I was sure that it was the server not my ReplayTVs. I e-mailed one of the big eBay sellers and he confirmed that it happens about 1-3 times a week for about 24 hours stretches.

Be patience. I wasn't at first and I took apart both of my Replays. Bad move cuz I could have screwed them both up.
Well it's a new day and still no luck and I even tried at 14.4 baud! :)

What else to do?
It has Build 107 if that matters.
Larry, The replay 2000 series isn't known for connection problems as the modem speed panel was a fix for the 3000/Showstoppers.

I just tried the setup server and it gave me local numbers so I know it's working.

What can you try?

Unplug unit and immediately connect.

Unplug all other phone devices from home wiring and try again.

Try connecting from someone else house.

Reimage the drive when all other options have failed (nothing to lose).
