Howdy, did anyone else get the email to refer friends and family to ReplayTV?

Dear dyker,


Do you love your ReplayTV DVR? Have you already been raving about it to your friends and family? How would you like to get rewarded for telling people about it? If so, we have an offer for you:

I must be about the last person to refer someone... on the other hand, I've dealt with so many refurbs to get a working Replay system maybe I'm the perfect person to refer one... I dunno :D

Actually, I hit New Thread to post before anyone posted about this, but then got distracted and didn't get to writing it for another 15 minutes or so.


I would say the beating up should commence after a 1 hour difference ;)

Ouch! Yeah, the website is not responding properly..


I got a preview of this the other day and was fairly impressed, so be a little patient. The link *should* open up the EStore...


The other link that they sent you will get you into a personal referral tracking site. You will have access to the number of people who used your link to access the site, how many people bought using your link, and how much you are scheduled to be paid. My understanding is that they will send out checks on this quarterly.


And dyker: glad you've got a working Replay finally :)

I laughed when I saw this.


I was a big replay supporter when I first got my Showstopper. But since getting a refurb 5000, I wouldn't recommend this to my worst enemy. Refurb meens that they've brought it back to the family and fixed and the problems.


When replay goes back to shiping stable, working products.....I'll go back to referring them to others....but not until.

Thanks, me too! 3 months and several refurbs later. I understand the comments about referral only to a worst enemy though. I can't imagine what I would have done to a friend or family to have gone through what I did to finally get a working unit... along with some satisfaction.:p Couldn't be where I am right now without Lyndon's help.


I've had several opportunities to sell friends on Replay. It is going to take stability and quality though before I actually recommend and I hope that is really coming this time.:D

Seems like it would have been a better option to give more credit in a branded store. Say $25 of merchandise like Tshirts, hats, mugs, etc. Things that would cost them less so the value seem greater and it gets the name brand out there in public.


At least it is something though...

More info... These letters went out to all registered users. So you do have to be a registered owner in order to participate.

What happens if you got 4 friends to purchase units in the last 30 days? Because of my recommendations, four of my friends all purchased refurbed units in the past 30 days.


I am a little nervous because one of them already had to RMA his unit and another has been having some issues. While a .500 batting average is great in baseball, it's not so great when you recommended to several people to buy it and half of them are having issues.


I still believe in the product and I am hopeful that because of efforts from folks at DNNA like ReplayRichard and ReplayLyndon, things will get turned around in a positive direction.


.... although, I still wouldn't mind an extra $60 in my pocket for the 4 referrals.

Yeah, it would be nice if it was somewhat retroactive. I just got someone to buy one this past month too. If I'd had any clue I'd have waited :) (no, not really).


You would be out of luck because they specifically say it is for new units only, not refurbs.

Gee, are they sending them out in batches? I'm currently a registered user of 3 units and haven't seen the email.

That's one thing that was always confusing. 'Registered' means go to the website and register the box. Nothing to do with activation, which you think would mean the same, but doesn't. I've not received any emails, but don't remember if I checked the box or not.... somewhat of a habit to not do these days, unfortunately.
