I have created a manual for the ReplayTV remote in the manuals section of my web site, hopefully this will help you guys program the remote to it's full capabilities. Any suggestions are welcome.

PLEASE NOTE: The instructions refer to the SETUP button, on the Replay remote this button is labelled "Code Set".

Great Work Rob [Replay this phrase many times]....

I think there's a typo on #10, shouldn't it read Restore the RP codes?

Also, the procedure in the other post about Stereo Receivers is clearer than what is in the manual in that area.

I am happy after using Volume Punch Through

Thanks again

I have a hard time reading the text on your scan
That's because I don't have a scanned in picture of the real Replay remote at the moment, when I get one I'll replace the picture. This picture is the generic picture of the remote that Replay used, hence the deliberately blurred text.

My bad, I have fixed the original post.

Agreed. That's because the original post detailed how to do a specific task, whereas the manual covers all the different features of the remote. Truth be told this manual is a quick knock-off of one of my regular Radio Shack manuals with the bits that don't apply (like macro's) removed. I'll add a Tips & Suggestions page to it as time allows for procedures such as opening up the stereo receivers, etc.

If anyone else comes up with any cool ideas on how you can improve the remote using any of the bits and pieces that are explained in the manual, I will add them to the Tips page eventually.

I have added the "first draft" version of the Tips and Hints section to the manual. I have included how to you can continue to use all four device keys for their intended purpose (ie, TV, CBL, VCR and Replay) and still have the volume buttons control your stereo receiver. I would strongly recommend familiarizing yourself with the rest of the manual before you try this. Chances are most of you have questions of how to do this one, and chances are most of the answers are in the main section of the manual.

Does anyone have a good picture of the Replay remote that I can use in the manual?

This is becoming a common enough question that I should probably add the intructions for it in the Tips section (even though the actual instructions are covered in the main manual).

To copy the TV's TV/VCR button over the the Replay device, you would do the following....

(CODE SET **) 994 ** TV TV/VCR ReplayTV TV/VCR **

Robman: you rule!

I just successfully (after testing on an extra Replay remote) set up three buttons on my Replay remote for: PIP, PIP Swap, toggle between inputs.

Now I have NO reason to keep my TV remote sitting around as those were the ONLY buttons I used.

Thank you!!!

One of the things that I find irritating about the Replay remote is the Tv/Video button. It works only in the TV mode. i.e., I press TV, then press the TV/Video button. If I forget and the active mode is Replay, the button does nothing. Is there a way to make that TV/Video button work in all modes, i.e. regardless of the fact that the active mode is Replay, TV, VCR, or DVD? Better still, if one presses any of the replay specific buttons - channel guide, replay zones, etc, the active mode should automatically switch to Replay and the underlying function should happen.
