I'm looking for 6 speakers (for 5.1 surround) to a complete a home theater system.

I already have a PS3 for playing blu rays, a TV,

and this receiver - ONKYO 7.2-Channel Black Home Theater Receiver TX-SR607

My budget is from $500 to $1400 and am looking for something including a subwoofer greater than 200 watts...

I came up with this setup and was curious for the community's critiques.

Center: Infinity Primus PC250 Center Channel Speaker - $149.00

Subwoofer: Infinity PS210 300 Watt Powered Subwoofer - $299.99

Front: Infinity Primus P252 Floorstanding Speaker (each) - $149.00 x 2

Rear: Infinity Primus P162 Bookshelf Speaker - $84.99 x 2

Total:

916.97

That's shipped, out the door. There's free shipping and no taxes on all of the above components at crutchfield. Save some speaker wires...I think this might be a winner. It meets my original criteria (budget and power specs) and is shipped from a respectable distributor (crutchfield).

Aside from speaker wire will I need anything else? Infinity's been around for a while, I assume they are a respectable speaker brand? I also bought all of the speakers from infinity, so I assume they will have similar tonal characteristics and will work in harmony with one another?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

A couple of comments.

1. If you haven't already, you may want to post this in the Speaker forum as well. BTW you're correct that Infinity is "a respectable speaker brand".

2. A quick look at Infinity's website shows that your selection of speakers are all from the same series so, yes, "they will have similar tonal characteristics".

3. IMO the only issue with your choices is the subwoofer. If you look in the Subwoofer forum, I think you'll find that there are better ones available that fit your budget. A couple that come to mind are Elemental Designs' A2-250/300 ( http://www.edesignaudio.com/index.php?cPath=2_41 ) and BIC Acoustech H-100 ( http://www.bicacoustechspeakers.com/...d=125&offset=0 ). There are certainly others but like I said, JMO.

i agree with sam...good choices on the speakers, but you can do better for the same $$ with the sub. the BIC and ED subs are a better for the buck than the infinity sub, and miles ahead of that joke Onkyo calls a sub. check out the sub forum for more suggestions...you're on the right path, my friend!

I thought the Bic sub was discontinued for another model? I have an H-100, but I haven't kept up on subs for awhile.
