About to become a DILAite, at least until the SXRDs come out of the stratosphere.

Looking for specific timing specs, beyond resolution and refresh. Specifically would like to get sufficient info to do custom Bravo timings and/or PowerStrip. Will go to other forums if necessary, but really a projector question.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Please do a search. A similar or the same request was done very recently. You should be able to find it with the search function. I guess you need more than what is provided on JVCs home page about timings?

Yes, I have gone through all the PDFs on the JVC pro site, foreign and domestic and did a search here too. Will try again. I'll also provide a list of parameters required.

I had better luck searching w/o a WAP browser and only found this post:

http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...hlight=JVC+HX1

Hfreq: 50950

VWidth: 1400

HSyncT: 1800

HSyncA: 0112

VSyncT: 0850

VSyncA: 0003

HSyncP: 0001

VFreq: 5994

VHeight: 0788

PreHSy: 0040

PostHSy: 0248

PreVSy: 0001

PostVSy: 0058

VSyncP: 0001

So if I try to map to different labels (more common?)

VFreq 59.940

VerRes (Ver active pixels) 788, ???? ms

PreVsync (Front Porch) 1 line, ???? ms [assuming lines = pix size]

VsyncActive (Sync Width) 3 lines, ???? ms

PostVsync (Back Porch) 58 lines, ???? ms

Vsync Total 850?, ???? ms

HFreq 50.95

HorRes (Hor active pixels) 1400, ???? ms

PreHsync (Front Porch) 40 lines, ???? ms

HsyncActive (Sync Width) 112 lines, ???? ms

PostHsync (Back Porch) 248 lines, ???? ms

Hsync Total 1800?, ???? ms

Hysnc Polarity 1

Vsync Polarity 1

Pixel Clock = ????

Appreciate any fill in the blanks or confirmation of my transpositionsd, e.g., assumed totals are aggregates of values. Any help appreciate, including other threads I may have missed. Thanks.

Tim,

You might the 1280x768 timing that comes with Powerstrip as a place to start. From what I've seen here it's a lot cleaner than the 720p timing.

William
just got back from a week of installing the HX1 as well as the rest of my dad's HT on the other coast.

i originally posted the timings above.

the 1400x788 timings look significantly cleaner than the 720p DVI settings.

the HX1 (as cal'd by wm) is surprisingly bright and looked fantastic even when

displayed on a textured white wall at 54x96" size.

the room had lots of ambient light (both artificial at night and sunlight during the afternoon).

the sunlight was somewhat mitigated by blinds. i was impressed by how viewable

the silverstar screen was even with lots of ambient during the afternoon.

(however, there was no strong direct lighting on the screen, but plenty bright to read in the room)

lcubed,

Thanks & thanks for the original settings. I did play w/ Powerstrip today in advance of the receiving the HX1. Everything lined up, but the refreshes were rounded up, but I know the math is right ;)

Will probably try the bravo & also set an HDL to see if I can get 1:1.

After your thoughts I'm now really starting to get excited. Thanks.

OK,

Settings seem to work great on Bravo D1 and picture is fantastic.

Question though, have only tried 5th Element Superbit via DVI (still uncalibrated). I'm seeing a good 4-6%% black (light black :)) band on both left and right sides.

Changing from 1280 to 1400 in options does nothing. Chjanging to 1:1 does nothing as it's driven 1:1. I'm confused as to whether this is:

1) DVI dumps overscan (haven't compared to composite.

2) Settings in Bravo are incorrect. PostHSync & PostVsymc seem awfully big. I added totals, but is that the right way to Hsync & Vsync total, ie I'm guessing??

3) Need to adjust on projector itself.

Thanks for any help (and help already rendered by folks like lcubed and others).

Tim,

To get the projector to use the entire panel, use the "Panel" setting, not 1:1.
