I'm usually not this lame but I'm having a bit of a headache with this installation. In order to see VCR menus and such on the TV, do I have to hook up S-Video and A/V cables to the TV? Or do menus come thru the Firewire? My Sam T-165 rear panel switch is set to 1080. If I need to use s-video and A/V, do I hook them up to a TV input or an input on the Sam T-165? My main intension is to record and playback OTA HD.

also, if you are recording OTA HD from the Sam T-165 does that mean you can't watch another HD channel while recording?

Thanks for your help.

The menus DONT come through the 1394 connection. You need a separate video cable. I think it needs to come from the VCR-->TV. I don't believe you can watch a separate channel while recording. I have a separate STB (DST-3000) for viewing programming; I only use my T165 to record.

The Mits also will supply some additional menus and settings if you have HAVi support over firewir such as Bit-Rate. Wait a minute only Mits sets and Promise Module have HAVi support!

Bruce,

Today is the 15th, do you have your PM yet?

I'm watching carefully to see how the PM is received.
