Resident Evil: Afterlife has a planned release date of September 17, 2010. Paul Anderson is going to direct it and in an interview he talked about the upcoming movie. Afterlife will have a larger budget than any of the previous Resident Evil movies, it will be filmed in 3D using the same camera system that was used for Avatar, and it is planned as the start of a new trilogy of movies.

God.. please God..... let this movie be a retelling of the first Resident Evil game. Anyway I just saw the interview and the chances of that are none. Alice will again be the focus of this movie. I enjoy all the Resident Evil films, but I would like for the next one less Alice and focus more on other characters from the game ( maybe Leon or Chris Redfield ).

Kain, have you read the original Resident Evil script by George Romero ? It was pretty good. It had everything the Anderson Resident Evil didn't had : suspense, atmosphere and survival horror, not to mention the characters and a lot of creatures from the game were present in that script. I don't know what the producers were thinking when they didn't used that script.

We already had that with Resident Evil: Degeneration. And it sucked. Big time.

Unfortunately no, I haven't read it. I was really hyped up when I heard there was going to be a Resident Evil movie but was very disappointed when it was nothing like the first game.

Capcom should be ashamed to allow these movies to even have the name Resident Evil attached to them. Generic zombie movies, at best. And Alice? Talk about painting yourself into a corner. Every movie they give her more "powers," until this thing will turn into Super Chick vs. the zombies.

I feel the same way. The first two were okay, but i just didnt care for the third one.

I would certainly be interested though in checking out a new one in 3D.

First three are a guilty pleasure of mine. Wouldn't be caught dead in the theater for the fourth but I hope it to be good enough to add the bluray next to the other three.

If I can pull it off I will be there with my wife opening night

*hopes it does not suck*

You know I forgot it was going to be 3d. Zombies in 3d could be cool. No way I could get the wife there though. RomCom, Pixar or major mainstream action flic - Yes. Anything with Evil in the title - No.

Forget the theater, i cant even watch a horror movie at home (even with headphones on) if my wife is around.

The word "cheese" keeps popping up in my head as I watch that trailer.

Here's a recipe:

RE 1 as a base plate

Ounce of The Matrix (gun fight scene in the lobby)

Ounce of The Matrix Reloaded (Trinity falling out the window and firing the machine gun)

Ounce of Blade II (new breed of vampire with split chin as mouth)

Sprinkle of Underworld (Selene throwing those "star" at the Lycans)

Mix & mash them till it forms uniform texture and voi-la!
