Hi,

Question about resolution. Do most CRT projectors have

a better resolution with component RGB input rather than

composite, or is it just the quality of colour that is better with

component input?

Also....

At the top of my screen I have a flickering line of R, G & B

with or without any input to the projector. Is there any way

to get rid of this?

First question:

The composite input on all (most?) projectors is strictly limited to a standard interlaced NTSC signal (15Khz, 480i) while RGBHV inputs are meant for any resolution that the projector can handle as the H/V sync signals are sent separately.

Second question:

You haven't mentioned what type of projector you have, but my guess is that it's a Sony or NEC with AKB (a features which adjusts the bias (brightness) automatically depends on the image brightness/contrast in real time). AKB is supposed to give better picture quality in normal usage. One of the side affect is the bright white line at the top of the image.

Do a search on AKB for more info!
