I've done some searches and spent a long time reading threads, but I still can't figure this out. I just built a new vista media center pc with an asus p5k-vm motherboard, nvidia 8500gt using hdmi out, and I can't figue out the best way to set up the resolution. I have it currently set to 1280x720, using 720p in nvidia control panel "tv" section. I have a problem with over scan, but I use the nvidia control panel to correct it.

It would be great if someone could share the specifics of their setup w/ this tv, but here is my general question:

Am I missing something here? Should I be setting a custom resolution to match the native resolution of the TV?

Also, what is the correct refresh rate.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

No, I think it's got an odd resolution like 788p. I guess what I'm asking is not should I send 720p or 1080i, but should I set a custom resolution to a) avoid oversan, and b) have a 1:1 pixel mapping.
