why are some dlp/lcd projectors with a native resolution of 800x600 considered as svga projectors even if their specs indicate that they have a maximum resolution which is higher than 800x600?

Because the internal scaler of the PJ will accept the XGA (or whatever) PC input and scale it across the native panel resolution... Its a way to sell more PJ's to the business market...


Usually looks less than impressive !!!
