I'm purchasing a Sony KDS-60A2000 RPTV soon. It's going to go up on stand that is relatively narrow and high. 'Not the conventional stands for this things. But the stand can support it. And its height solves some other problems for me. See link:

I'd like to attach two cables between some solid attach points on the back of the tv and eye hooks I drill into the studs in the wall behind the TV. I want to do this so the tv doesn't fall over (which would be disastrous) if we have a bad earthquake or something.

Has anyone ever heard of such an implementation or done this themselves?

The link for the tv's at:

Thanks in advance for any advice.

It sounds like a very good idea out here in quake country (and in all those areas to the east overdue since the New Madrid quake).

The pedestal for my plasma has holes for hold down screws, and I was temporizing about using them because its a custom cabinet (by me). But after a moment's reflection on the Loma Prieta quake out came the drill/driver.

You are on the right track.
