Ok, here are my results using the "RS vu120 XR" antenna.( 10-11-01)

My zip code is 11209 (BKLYN, NY) and i'm about 17 miles from Alpine

tower.(NJ)

I only ran about 30 feet of rg-6.

On a scale from 1-4, 4 being the best.

Channel - 1-4

2 (cbs) 4

4 (nbc) 2

5 (fox) 4

7 (abc) 2 1/2

9 (upn) 4

11 (wpix) 3

13 (wnet) 3 1/2

25 (wyne) 3 1/2

26 ? 2 1/2

30 ? 1 1/2

34 ? 1 1/2

35 (hsn ?) 4

39 ? 4

41 ? 3 1/2

47 ? 1

50 ? 2 1/2

61 ? 2 ( yankee game was on)

64 ? 1

68 (ain?) 4

All the stations with not so good and bad reception had snow only (no

ghosts)

So i'm thinking the signal is not strong enough or antenna isn't big

enough.( i'm not buying another antenna)

Building is 6 stories high and no buildings in my way for a few miles ( a

few trees but not tall at all to make a difference)

I didn't have time to play with it (move it around) but will give it a go

this weekend.

Question: Does snow / noise indicate weak signal? (unlike ghosts which come from signals bouncing off things causing ghosts) If so, would a amp help?

Anyone know where channels 26-68 ( that i'm picking up)are located?
