ive just bought a new blue tube for my 1272 and was going to try install it myself

if any body has done this out there i would love some tips

few questions

the manual doesnt explain a few things real well

1. do you loosen the dy and sub dy and yoke magnets and pull them all out with the tube when replacing it or do you slide them off the tube neck and leave them in the chassis

2.how do you loosen the DAB? board at the rear of the tube neck? does it twist off/ or just pull out

or should i just pay a tech?

if any body has some tips or some good links on tube replacement much would be appreciated

You will want to disconnect the HV cable and all of the various wires that connect to the yoke of the tube. All of the yoke will comes out with the tube so you can put it on the new tube.

The "board at the rear of the tube" comes straight off. There are really only a few bolts that hold all of the electronics to the tube. Look at the new tube and you can see how things attach.

It really isn't a difficult process (other than if the new 07MSP tube is from a Barco - then its time to solder), but you have to pay attention to where the wires come off and be careful when aligning the new tube post-installation.
