This is the equipment I have:

TV - Panasonic TC-P60ST60
DVD - Sony BDP-S5100
Cable Box - Motorola DCX-3400
Receiver - Denon AVR-1713

It's old, I know, but I have my reasons for still keeping it. The problem I have is my Amazon Prime app on the DVD player is going to stop working soon (no longer supported). I know my TV has Netflix and Amazon Prime apps on it, so I could use those, but because of the connection to the receiver, the audio from the TV app won't play on my speakers connected the the Denon. Is there any way to hook up the HDMI connections to my Denon in such a way that this would work for me?

As long as you have the HDMI cable plugged in to HDMI 2 on the Panasonic you can use Audio Return Channel (ARC) to send audio from the TV Apps back to the Denon via HDMI.

You have to make sure you have the settings correct on the TV and Denon but it will work.

Either that or buy a Fire Stick or Roku streaming device which are pretty inexpensive nowadays.

Another option is run an optical cord. I checked the specs on your receiver, and it has an optical in. I couldn't tell if your tv has an optical out. But you can get a good optical cable for less than $5. I'm not sure if your tv and receiver support Dolby Digital Plus, though.

The Panasonic TC-P60ST60 has an optical output.

I fail to find whether the TV supports ARC (audio return channel), but optical probably supports all the same formats, so I'd use that.

It looks like it does support ARC, but which input does the receiver need to be on for it to work? I tried to access Netflix from the TV menu, but the only input the AV receiver makes sense to be on is "TV Audio" at which point it only plays from the TV speaker and not the through the Denon.

Its TV audio yes, but you probably need to configure your tv to send sound through ARC.

Well, I got it to work! But it looks like Amazon Prime is also not going support the app on the TV as well starting in September. Ha, that's an odd coincidence. Guess a Fire Stick will have to be in order eventually.

Thanks for the help guys.
