For any replay 4xxx users who happen to have an old stand-alone series I tivo with a network card hidden away, this may be of interest.

Attached is an application to allow shows transferred, from a 4000 to a PC, to be playback on a tivo with commercial advance, etc... No direct replay to tivo yet. The program expects to find the files in the raw replay format.

This is Alpha software, and was really intended for high level design use, but it may be of interest as is. The readme file contains install/usage instructions. low and medium quality shows play back fairly well with a fast pc. There are limits to how long a show it can handle due to some strange compiler limitation.

The forum keeps claims that the 270k file is to large to upload, so here is a link.

I don't know about you, but I'm not about to download an executable from someone making their very first post in this forum, but as this user has a history in this other forum, I'm providing the links so you can do the research yourselves.

It appears that pvraddict74 is known as TheDoctor over there and appears to be legit.

Sorry for the first post, but I have only had the 4040 for 2 weeks, so have not been hanging out here much. Also have a couple of showstoppers that I have been very happy with but never really had any reason to post before. This is that first applicaion that I have written that I thought might be of use to some replay owners.

By all means, don't run anything you are not comfortable with, and don't ran anythin on a machine you have not backed up.

Any chance of a source code release at some point?

Possibly, when I am done playing. This is a sanity project after a layoff. Although after having just spent 3 hours trying to figure out what the extra bytes were in the mpg download from the machine (turned out to be a text field with the record length), I am not sure how sane it will leave me...

Yes, the Replay uses HTTP/1.1 chunks, with a chunk length indicator every so often -- have you not read my httpfs page, or is it unclear there?

I did not look at your http to be honest... The NDX info was very helpful, but I try not to cheat more than once per project. I needed to do some performance testing anyway. This by the way is a link to the source code to the OSD routine I used on the tivo based on mhill's open soure work. http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/sh...threadid=13121 it is not the latest, and is not really of general interest to this forum.

A problem with hard coded paths has been corrected. A program has also been added to allow for batch downloads with auto segmentation.

May be of use someday...
