Hi, I apologize for adding a new post to what has probably been covered countless times, but all the REW threads are massively bloated to where I just have not found a simple starting procedure.

I have a laptop with Umik-1 mic that I just received. I am a bit lost as to how to get started with calibrating and what have you in order to start taking measurements.

You must have the proper version of REW to use the UMIK-1. When I installed mine around Christmas, the version was listed as a beta.

The mike will appear to work on the old software versions and even will seem to calibrate. But it will be way off target. With the proper REW version it works very well. You don't even need to run a calibration but you must download the serial number specific file for your UMIK-1 from MiniDSP and load that into REW.

I am an old and strong supporter of AVS forum but the really good REW support thread is at HT Theater Shack.
