Hi- I'm prewiring for Zenith DTV1080 and was wondering which is the correct cable to run from dish to receiver and from dish to multiswitch? Which cable is best to run from UHF antenna for OTA HD programming as well? Thanks for any help.

Typically, it has even less loss than the best quad shield RG-6, so it's used for those reeeaaalllly looonnnng cable runs.

I have a cable run from the dish to a Dish Network receiver that's 50 feet of RG-6, and 75 feet of RG-59, and switch operation has been 100% reliable, and it gives the same signal strengths as a 25 foot piece of RG-6 going from the dish to another receiver.

RG-6 has less attenuation than RG-59, especially at the 950MHz-1400MHz frequencies of DBS, but if it means tearing into a wall to replace it, I'd try the RG-59 first to see if it works. I did, and wound up not bothering to replace the RG-59 that my house was wired with.
