I learned of his death the other day and have been groovin' to all the old stuff since. I started w/ digging out his old CTI LP "Red Clay" and revisiting the title track (one of Hubbard's finest moments as a leader) and "Straight Life" I was reminded of the great collaborations between all those that played on those releases. I then moved on to Ron Carter's stuff as well as Lenny White, Joe Henderson, Herbie Hancock and all their extended appearances on CTI and other labels. Because of "The Intrepid Fox" I've been on a Miles kick throughout the day and am now listening to "Kind of Blue." "Flamenco Sketches" sums up my feelings for now, thanks for the memories.
