Hogan's Hero's Sgt. Carter passed away last week. His death went virtually unnoticed with the hoopla surrounding Johnny Cash and John Ritter's deaths. Larry Hovis might not have been as big as star as those two to most of the world. He was to me. Growing up, I never listed to Cash's music and thought Three's Company was idiotic. But I watched HH reruns every day and dreamed of being a secret agent like Hogan and his men.
Somewhere along the way I discovered Cash's music and developed a respect for Ritter's comedy. Yet I'm still most saddened by Hovis death.
RIP - You gave a lot of us laughs and dreams.
