Does anyone have any experience ripping MP3s from DVDs? I'd appreciate any tips or perhaps pointers to websites with tutorials.

I've finally got my entire CD collection converted to MP3 and being served up by an Audiotron and I'd love to be able to finish the job by adding selected tracks from some concert DVDs that I own (there's a great version of "Centerfield" on John Fogerty's "Premonition" DVD that I want to listen to without having to fire up the home theater).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

If you really like the song you could always just run the analog out from the DVD player into the sound card input and make a WAV file and then convert that. Sure it is not as quick and easy as ripping but it can be done this way. Also this is perfectly legal if you are worried about that.

Good suggestion. It also has the merit of not requiring any software other than what you're likely to already have installed.

Am I worried about the RIAA or MPAA nailing me for ripping a DVD that I already own? No - the sigh was just a reflexive response to the silliness of the situation. Anyway, old arguments and old news.

Thanks for the tip.
