I am considering using yellow or amber rope lighting in my crown moulding to cast a "glow" up into a dark ceiling. I want to do this to "extend" the yellow from my sconces as well as from my side walls.

However, I am not so sure I will get any effect from the yellow or amber light and should instead just simply use the clear lights.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a pic for reference

I have never used colored rope light so I can't comment on that.

I have used various color temps LED rope light from 6500k down to 2700k and I can certainly see the color difference in the glow from the bluish hue of 6500k to the yellow hue of 2700k.

The woodwork in your room is coming out very good!
