rotel rsp1068 versus proceed avp

I recently purchased an proceed amp5 and am driving it from a pioneer ax5ai receiver. I can trade in the pioneer on a rotel rsp1068 or purchase a proceed avp mark 1. The rotel is obviously more up to date, and I realise the avp is long discontinued. I was also offered a avp mark 2, but at double the price of the mark 1 version. Sound quality wise in stereo and surround would the avp mark1 be superior to the rotel?
