For aesthetic reasons I would like to route the power cord (to power the PJ) throught the pipe mount, along with the video cords... then they go their seperate ways as the video cords go along the ceiling and into a closet and the power cord attaches to a jack in the ceiling.

The stock power cord and the DVI Cable (my only cable going to the PJ) from BlueJeansCable will run through the pipe, so they will be parallel for 18''.

Is this a terrible idea? I know you aren't supposed to run power cords parallel to video or audio wires...

Sounds like you just answered your own question. Audio/video cables should not be run parallel to each other. If they must cross, try to do it perpendicular to each other.

How do most ppl hide their power cords then... it is kind of ugly to have it just hanging there in the middle of the room.
