I have a RP82 player connected via component cables to a

Toshiba 57H82 RPTV.

During DVD playback, especially during dark scenes, two horizontal lines continously roll from bottom to top of screen.

Tried the following:

-replaced the component cables(using Monster 3 now)

-changed to video 2 input on RPTV

-swapped DVD player w/Samsung(interlace)

When Samsung DVD player is used, the horizontal lines disappear.

I think I have isolated the problem to the RP82.

Anyone else seen/experience this?

Any settings I need to tweak on the RP82?

Thinking about contacting Panasonic for replacement, since

my 30 days with Crutchfield.com are up.

Appreciate a response...thanks!:(

Could be a power loop problem. Maybe your Samsung player is not as sensitive to the power fluxuation as the Panny?

Are the DVD player and TV plugged into the same circuit? Do you use any sort of line conditioning?

I have both components connected to the same surge protector.

I was advised to purchase a Monster surge protector, but not sure how much value that would add.
