Help, I was watching LOTR last night and picture seemed to degrade while the movie progressed. At 39:30 min. into the second disk the picture froze. I couldn't get the tray to eject so I left it overnight but it's not working this morning. When I turn it on the "open" shows, then the "Reading Disk" then there is a repetitive winding sound and finally "No Play" shows. The unit is about 1 1/2 years old, any help will be appreciated.

Try this. Press "stop" on the player itself and "Power" on the remote at the same time. this has been used successfully before to unlock the tray.

It's out! I tried all your recommendations, even opened it up but couldn't find a release. When I put the cover back on and plugged it in the tray popped out. It seams to working but picture is poor. It looks the convergence on the set is bad (it isn't) as the picture is blurred and everything has a red outline. I didn't want to buy a new deck before CES but I might have to.

Thanks
