So guys I've been thinking for us owners of RPTV's that do have the ability to scale above 480p(for example my hitachi does 540p and 1080i) will the new players be better than our internal ones that we already have. Personally on movies i can't see a difference between the 540p and 1080i settings for dvds on my set. If that cause the internal scalers suck or because it can only help so much, and if not should we go out and grab a new dvd player with the upscaling ability like the new samsung?

I'll check the 200tvl screen out. When watching dvds what do most of you use 540p or 1080i? Also what are your thoughts on the new players? Beneficial to us RPTV owners or more for people with projectors?

I use 540p. 1080i reduces aliasing, but is less stable during action scenes. When using the 200TVL screen while in 1080i, you will notice the upper/lower fans and center circle look wavey. This is caused by the interlacing.
