Yes. I have a panny 47x54 and upscaling to 1080i helps. This set upscale a 480i/p input to 540p and 1080i is processed as 1080i. My Oppo 970 improves the PQ compared to feeding it a 480i/p signal. Also, check out what others have used in the sticky at the top of the thread.
