I am currently framing out a wall in my basement to put my 64" widescreen into (in wall), and I've seen a few people on here that have actually put their RPTV up on a platform to raise it. What is the highest I could raise my RPTV if my main seating will still be at ground level? I'm assuming with projection you don't want to go too high (or low) or the picture can look distorted. I currently don't have any plans of putting any seating on a platform, but some day I may add an additional row with a platform.
You can put it as high as you like. Just tilt it so the screen is perpendicular to the line of sight. If you want the screen to be plumb, you'll need to look at the individual set and see where image fall off is enough to bother you. Be warned that fall off occurs much earlier off vertical than horizontal. Ultimately, you'll have to answer the question yourself.
