Looking to purchase a 65" RPTV to be used with a HTPC and was curious what the consensus around here is as far as which RPTV is recommended to work best with a HTPC?

One can never say what's "best", and the display I will recommend is not available in a 65" model...


With those caveats, the Samsung line of DLP displays certainly make great HTPC displays. With VGA and DVI inputs you're set. No burn-in worries from leaving a static desktop or webpage up too long. Great legibility of text.


The only worry (for some), is that in DVI (the best possible mode) there is slight overscan. Your desktop (or maximized windows) are not fully displayed at the edges. In VGA, there are custom resolutions using powerstrip that purportedly fill the screen with NO over or under scan, and the visual quality is close to DVI.
