Rs2/rs20

I have a question the other day i was at a dealer who had a Anthen RS20 projector, and we ran the DVE hd disc on the pluge test and the RS20 could not show all three bar's just two. Thought nothing of it but i decided to try the DVE hd disc with my Pioneer RS2 and it showed all three bars in the pluge test what could be the reason for this? I was using a Oppo BDP-83 and the store was using a pioneer elite. thanks

Setup issue...likely the brightness of the projector was set wrong, the Oppo was set wrong, or the Expanded/Normal HDMI settings weren't matched (in conjunction with the first 2).
Jason: are you saying the rs2 was setp up wrong or the rs20 was? Also what do you mean the HDMI setting are wrong which projector? How can you setup the Oppo wrong to get these results. thanks
Well being that the RS20 looked worse, I'd say that setup was wrong. Without seeing I don't know where it was wrong though...
Sounds like the most likely explanation is that something in the chain was clipping the information below black.

If it was an RS20, it certainly wasn't the projector.
Well it could have been the projector causing it, but only from incorrect setup.
Jason: The picture looked great on the RS20 but for some reason it would not show all three bars with the DVE-hd disc, the player they were using was one of the first generation Pioneer elite Blu-Ray players.
Still likely setup. I can get all bars no problem on my RS20.
Greetings

The projector is set up wrong .. that's all.

No different than if people were messing with keystone ... but didn't know its down side.

Not too surprising in a showroom condition.

If one of the bars is below video black then the RS20 won't show it with the default HDMI setting and the projector won't show above video reference white like that either. People have to go change the HDMI setting to Enhanced or something like that and then adjust the Brightness and Contrast appropriately.
