In my width constrained theater I'm trying to minimize wall thickness as much as possible. One of my side walls is poured concrete. I was thinking of putting up 1 " rigid foam than screw whisper clips right through the foam and into the concrete. Then put the hat channel into the clips then double drywall with green glue. Is this a bad idea?

Yes. For a few reasons. Clips are meant to be attached to a rigid framing member, and the clips will fail with that foam spacer. The decoupled system is much better with that air space you don't want to part with. Thin air cavities are not good.
